Leukemia / lymphoma diagnosis

The modern diagnosis of hemato-oncological diseases in our lab does rest on three methods: molecular genetic testing (PCR and sequencing), flow cytometric measurements, and immunological staining procedures (optical microscopy).

Within the last several years there was plenty of progress in the field of genetic disease analysis. By sequencing oncogenes we can now classify leukemia more precisely and by this even improve therapy and patient outcome. In addition, molecular markers can be determined to aid the diagnosis and detection of minimal residual disease. We use classic PCR but also sanger and next-generation sequencing technologies for the molecular markers.

We will provide a comprehensive medical evaluation, taking into account the morphology and the clinical situation. The investigation is carried out both from peripheral blood, bone marrow and other body fluids (ascites, pleural effusion, etc.)
